Brisbane Tourist Information

Brisbane has over 1700 parks and other various outdoor community areas making it one of the most 'open-plan' cities in Australia. Along the banks of the Brisbane River are parks and recreational boardwalks, play and picnic areas, walking and bike trails, restaurants, cafes, markets pontoons, and fishing facilities.

CityCat ferries are a fast, inexpensive, and fun way to explore the river and the city. There are more leisurely cruise options with the gracious River Queen Paddlewheelers or the Mirimar Wildlife Cruise to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The majority of the hostels are found in East Brisbane, Fortitude Valley, New Farm, Paddington, Petrie Terrace, and the West End. The hotels are situated around Gregory Terrace, Main Street, and Wickham Street.
