The Bruce Steer Pool is a netted saltwater pool tucked into Bermagui Harbour on the western side of Bermagui Point. A short stroll from the main street, it is an ideal swimming and play place for young children with gentle water, a sandy beach, shade, seating and toilet facilities. The pool is named in honour of Colonel John Mansel Bruce Steer who served the community of Bermagui with great fervour and skill. He was at the forefront of an agitation for Bermagui harbour improvements which eventuated in a project involving major reclamation and harbour construction.
